Mission
To foster partnerships and focus strategies to prevent and control sexually transmitted infections, including HIV, in the Washington, DC Metropolitan Area.

Objectives
  • To promote STI awareness;
  • To encourage member organizations to aggressively educate those at greatest risk for STIs;
  • To endorse best practices for diagnostic and treatment services of STIs;
  • To advocate for STI policies and services;
  • To broaden STI outreach services; and
  • To collaborate in order to achieve individual member organizations’ goals.
  1. Community Outreach Project Planning
    This work committee plans and coordinates community outreach activities.

  2. Community Mobilization
    This work committee takes the lead in (a) identifying and inviting new members to the Coalition, as well as (b) addressing the concerns of current member organizations regarding Coalition participation.

  3. Lobbying and Legislative Affairs
    This work committee (a) conducts lobbying activities with legislative and executive branches of local governments, and (b) stays abreast of legislative issues regarding STDs.

  4. Grant Resources
    This work committee (a) identifies grant and funding opportunities for the Coalition and member organizations, as well as (b) identifies collaborative grant efforts between member organizations.
